I became faculty advisor to the ECE Club in 2004. I decided to take on this role because of my deep commitment and passion for my chosen field. I want to share my experiences and expertise with students in a forum outside the classroom, and the club provides me that opportunity. I graduated magna cum laude from New York University in 1982, with a B.S. in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. In 1988, I earned my Master's Degree at Bank Street College, one of the premier institutions for ECE in the country, and whose philosophy of humanistic, child-centered learning permeates the entire ECE program at KCC. While at NYU, I did my student teaching at some of the finest early childhood programs in NYC. I know firsthand that the training a person receives as an undergraduate will impact their entire future career, so I am strongly committed to ensuring that students at KCC receive the best possible start. I have just celebrated my 15th anniversary at KCC. Prior to this I was a preschool teacher, child care center director, and early childhood consultant. I am fortunate to have enjoyed a rich and varied career in a field that I love.
